These Chickpea patties are eaten all over Middle East , as wrapped in a pita or can be had as an appetizer.
Ingredients:
Chickpeas 1 cup( Soaked overnight with water) or 1 can of chickpeas drained and rinsed.
Onion 1 Medium Chopped
Garlic 3 cloves about an inch chopped
Coriander Powder 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder 1 tbsp
Cumin powder 1tsp
Coriander leaves 1/2 cup chopped
Parsley fresh 1/2 cup chopped
Salt
All purpose flour 1-2 tbsp( acc.)
Sesame seeds 1-2 tbsp
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Method:
1)Soak the dry chickpeas over night in water . Drain the chickpeas so that its fully dried.
2)Now in a food processor add all the ingredients except all purpose flour and salt and grind it so that there is no whole chickpeas left.
3)Don't Grind it to a creamy paste . It should be rough and coarse. Do it in small batches and don't add water.
6)Take a pan and pour enough oil for frying the falafels or the chickpea balls.
7)After the oil is hot fry the falafels in a slow - medium flame until it turns brown from all the sides.

4)Now shift the mixture in the bowl and mix it well with salt , soda, sesame seeds and remove any whole chick peas if missed.
5)Now check if small balls can be formed from the mixture .If not add the flour accordingly little by little.6)Take a pan and pour enough oil for frying the falafels or the chickpea balls.
7)After the oil is hot fry the falafels in a slow - medium flame until it turns brown from all the sides.
8)Serve the hot falafels with hummus or use it in pita pocket and serve it as a falafel pita sandwich.
